The preparation work of  Hebei section of the second Jing-Zhang motorway is speeding up, and the construction is expected to achieve substantial progress in 2006. Moreover, the pace of the Beijing section proceeds even faster and is hopeful to start construction in 2005.

Report from Zhangjiakou Transport Department says that the construction of the traffic artery which is called Jing-Zhang Freight Transport Channel for the moment, will ease the traffic congestion on Jing-Zhang road. The layout plan has been finished and the feasibility study report of the project is also being prepared. Besides, the Zhangjiakou Transportation Administration has reached an agreement after negotiation with the investor, Hebei Hua'neng Jing-Zhang Motorway Ltd.

A special motorway that connects the existing Jing-Zhang Motorway with Changping is also in planning in Beijing. On the whole. It will be parallel to the exsiting Jing-Zhang Motorway and serve as a special high-load road for coal and freight transport, enabling the sightseeing function of Badaling Motorway to be restored. If everything goes well, the Beijing section will start construction within 2005.
