Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission has approved the Application for the Construction Projcet of Tianjin Section of the Jing-Jin Motorway and granted the construction of this section. The Tianjing section with a total investment of 9.86 billion Yuan stretches from Gaocun in Wuqing district of Tianjing (on the border of Beijing and Tianjin) to Beitang of Tanggu district, passing through Nancai, Meichang, Dongditou, and Huzhangzhuang with a total length of 101 km. The whole line will be constructed to the motorway standard with a design speed of 120km/h. The road from the starting point to the linking road of Jing-Jin Motorway (about 38 km long) and from JingHan Interchange to TangJin Interchange (about 4km long), totalling 42km, will be built to the dual four-lane motorway standard with a subgrade width of 42m. The rest with a mileage of 59km long will be built to the dual three-lane motorway standard with a subgrade width of 34.5km. 12 intechanges will be built along the line.

3 linking routes of Tianjin section will also be constructed: one is the linking route of Jing-Hu motorway, from Hepingzhuang Interchage on the main line to Sicundian; another is the linking route of Jing-Jin Motorway, from Caozili Interchange on the main line through Xinzhuang to Shuangjie linking to the outer ring road, totalling 18km; the third one is the linking route of Jing-Han Motorway from JingHan Interchange on the main line through Shanlingzi to Huaming towns linking with the outer ring road of Tianjing, with a total length of 19km.

The survey of the Beijing section has been fininshed and following that will be route design. The Beijing section starts from Huagonglu Interchange of the Fifth Ring Road in Chaoyang destrict of Beijing,going through Tongzhou District and ends at Yonglezhen in Tianjin(on the border of Wuqing Districts of Tianjin and Tongzhou District of Beijing ). The Beijing section about 34.47km long will have 4 interchanges with 8 lanes. Emergency lanes will also be constructed. The design speed of Beijing section will be 120km.
