In the 11th "Five-Year Plan"period, the traffic infrastructure investment in Wuhan will reach 53.8 billion Yuan, three times of that of the 10th "Five-Year Plan" period. The 53.8 billion Yuan will be invested in the construction of 7 motorways and Yangluo Yangtze River Bridge, Tianxingzhou Yangtze River Bridge and the second aero building of Tianhe Airport.

This year is the last of the 10th Five-Year, and Wuhan plans to invest more than 4 billion Yuan in traffic to reach the aim of investing 14 billion Yuan in traffic in the 10th "Five-Year Plan" period. The framework of Yangluo Yangtze River Bridge will be completed in October, and 80 per cent of the construction will be finished by the end of this year. The first phase of Han-Xiao Motorway has been finished and the pavement work will start in September’s second phase. The constructions of Han-Xin, Han-E and Han-Ma motorways have started in an all-round way.
