The budgetary estimate of the total investment of the digital motorway is about 37.93 million Yuan. And the first phase is in tendering and bidding which marks the start of digital motorway construction planned by Fujian since 2002. the completion of the project will bring great effects to the 3.3 billion income and 7 billion expenditure of Fujian motorway system.

The motorway mileage open to traffic in Fujian now is about 1,000km. One vertical and two horizontals of the planned three verticals and four horizontals will be finished, i.e. the  Fujian section of Jing-Fu Motorway will open to traffic and Shao-San and Long-Chang  Motorway will be joined up, thus, the motorway network construction will be basically completed forming the Fujian four-hour economic zone.

From long-term sight, Fujian plans to have built up three verticals and four horizontals totalling 3,240km of motorways by 2017 to cover the whole province.
