According to 2008 Beijing ITS framework of "One Platform, Seven Systems", in 2006, Beijing Municipal Committee of Communication will insistently strengthen technology innovation and speed up urban intelligent transport system construction, so as to achieve the target of "congestion-alleviation, traffic-convenience, serve Olympics and high efficiency."

It is said that this year great importance will be attached to develop urban intelligent transport system in Beijng, with All-in-one IC card toll collection system, Highway interlink system, Electronic toll collection system, Comprehensive passenger transportation information system, Travel information system, GPS/GSM vehicle location and navigation system and Identical parking guidance system included.

With near coming of 2008 Olympics and ITSE Beijing 2007, Beijing today is facing great challenges to tackle transport problem. According to Mr. Liu Xiaoming, vice Director General of Beijing Municipal Committee of Communication, "Beijing has been making great efforts on the development of urban intelligent transport system for years and will continuously promote urban ITS construction in the future", he said, "and the intelligent transport system in Beijng city will achieve more obvious progress by the year of 2010."
