Purpose of IHICE2008:

In order to give a full display to the achievements of China highway mechatronic engineering construction, share the experience, achievements and research of highway informationization construction of different regions, promote the popularization and application of new technology and new products, exchange experience of different regions; display the new technology and products during the highway technology innovation; review intensively the innovation achievement of highway technology in recent years. The exhibition will attract all the well-known highway mechatronic system integrators in the industry and famous manufacturer in tolling, monitoring and communication industry. And it will also provide the display platform for the coming enterprises that are active in the industry and the powerful foreign enterprises.
 

IHICE2008 background

►Future planning for China highway informationization construction:
Ministry of Communications has formally published the development planning of communication informationization for the year 2006-2010, and determined that by 2010 national highway traffic mileage will reach 65,000 km. The main tasks of highway informationization during 2010 are: to establish data centers of two levels, three comprehensive information platforms, three application systems; to perfect two portals, three security systems and one basic network for communication information.

► Great potential of mechatronic system integrators:
It is an important phase for China communication informationization construction from 2008 to 2010, when communication informationization construction faces great developing opportunities. The highway informationization construction will be focused on the highway management informationization construction, which will greatly enhance the rapid development of highway mechatronic system integrators. It is estimated that the investment in China communication IT will exceed 19 billion in 2008.

►The highway operation management is top priority:
According to national macropolicy, the top priority of highway work will be given to operation management instead of construction. For the road with increasing traffic and frequent accidents, the main solution is to improve the operation management level. Highway informationization construction has shown many new characteristics. On one hand, the newly-built highways every year are in great need of supporting mechatronic system and informationized management system, on the other hand, the mechatronic system and informationized management system of earlier highways have to be maintained and upgraded. Meanwhile, with the cyberization and complication of highway online tolling system and the formation of monitoring network, the scope and difficulty of China highway informationization construction are increasing, and there are much more problems arising from operation management and technology.
