Loop Detector Highlight

By Mr. Yuan Shaosong

For reasons that are widely known, people have been seeking the replacement of loop detectors in the last ten years, which saw the emerging of non-contact detecting methods such as video, microwave, infrared, ultrasonic, acoustic, magnetic, etc. To this day, however, loop detectors remain the most widely used detecting technology. The reason is that it is thought more reliable and accurate than the latecomers. The wide range of non-contact technologies could overcome the shortages of the contact detectors like loop detectors to some extent, such as no need to damage the road surface and close the lane, low installation and maintenance costs. But all these technologies have their limitations, which their manufacturers are reluctant to mention. In addition, accepted standards and test data have not been established, making it hard for users to make choice.

Road Building & Maintenance

China TRANSPO,the Seventh International Expo for Technology and Equipment of Highway and Waterway was wrapped up which has been held for seven times since 1994. A total member of 300 manufactures exhibited their state-of-art road construction and maintenance equipments and it was heralded for being a huge market, attractive to the world’s largest retailers and manufacturers.
China is also making great efforts to develop its motorway network. During the eleventh five-year plan, China plans to build 24,000km new motorways, making the total mileage of the motorway in China reach to 65,000km. It is predictable that the road construction and maintenance equipment manufacture will grow into a pillar industry by 2010. In addition, the competition between domestic manufacture and overseas manufacture in slurry seal machine and road patch equipment market facilitate to the efficiency of road construction and maintenance in a long term view.

Tunnel Electrical Engineering System

Editors words:
By the end of 2004,China's total mileage of operating expressway has reached to 34,200km,which contributes to a booming expressway electromechanical market in China. With the formulation of the National Expressway Network Plan, the future of the nation's expressway electromechanical market in the next 30 years is promised.

However, how much market opportunity or challenge could the National Expressway Network Plan bring to the segment? Mr.Shen Xunda, who is long dedicated to the budget making, system integration and the engineering of expressway electromechanical market, will give us most valuable analysis of the question.
